Trekking in Orvieto: The Etruscan town and the ring of the rock
Find out the ancient Etruscan capital, headquarters of the Great federal Shrine, walking through necropolis and tuff walls. Trekking in Orvieto starts from Albornoz fortress, reachable by funicolare, and develops along the ring of the rock that runs along the tuff hill. You will reach this way the mysterious Etruscan necropolis called “Crocefisso del tufo” for than getting back the path until the southern side of the rock. A variant will lead you straight to the Duomo: you will cross than the town along the ancient decuman until the paths that return down to the valley.
